I have developed my own Vitamin C, as some Vitamin C supplements for the sensitive population are either too harsh/acidic on the gut, contain ingredients that aren’t tolerated, or are too strong (e.g. Liposomal Vitamin C).
This gentle form of Vitamin C is ‘buffered’ with minerals so can minimise stomach irritation in sensitive individuals. It simultaneously provides a small dose of essential minerals magnesium, zinc and potassium, and is low in salicylates.
We don’t make vitamin C in the body and it can be hard to get enough from the diet as it’s is easily destroyed by prolonged storage and cooking.
Vitamin C is necessary for:
- Synthesis of collagen (important for bones, teeth and gums, blood vessels, cartilage and skin
- Helping to to maintain psychological health and the nervous system
- increasing the absorption of iron
- Supporting the immune system
- Aiding the metabolism of energy and reduction of fatigue
- Helping to reduce oxidative stress
