Why have we launched Kids Simply Magnesium Liposomal?
As I work with so many children as a nutritionist, I’ve been searching for a nice tasting yet clean magnesium supplement for children for many years. I’ve looked at all sorts of options such as gummies, chewables etc, but they were just full of nasties. Magnesium itself doesn’t always taste good, so it is hard to disguise. I’ve finally found a product I’m delighted with.
The product is a liposomal liquid, with natural raspberry and vanilla flavouring.
This product is vegan. It’s allergen, gluten, soy, nut, egg & corn free. It contains no added sugar or colouring. Flavours are derived from natural extracts.
What is a liposomal supplement?
Studies show that liposomal supplements have increased absorption and bioavailability to standard supplements.
Liposomes are made from the same material as our cell membranes, so magnesium can be absorbed easily straight into our cells.
As the magnesium is surrounded by liposomes, it is protected from interacting with compounds in the stomach and intestinal environment, such as enzymes, bacteria, medications, or digestive factors. This allows the magnesium to be safely delivered to the cells.
Why is magnesium good?
Magnesium plays a different role in your body, from mood to metabolism. In fact, magnesium is a hugely important mineral, playing a role in over 300 enzyme reactions in the body, supporting muscle and nerve function, energy production and optimal brain function. Can magnesium help sleep?
Magnesium glycinate is one of the most common magnesium supplements used for achieving better sleep due to its combination with glycine. Glycine can promote healthy sleep and relaxation and has been shown in clinical research to have a calming effect on our brains.
How long will Simply Magnesium Liposomal keep once opened?
As long as it’s kept in the fridge, once opened, it is best to consume your product within 3 months. However it will retain stability for up to 12 months .
Who can take Simply Magnesium Liposomal?
This product is suitable for children aged 2 and over, and also for adults.
Food supplements must not be used as a substitute for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, taking any medications or under medical supervision, please consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this supplement.
When is best to take this?
This can be taken just in the evening after a meal or just before bed, if you want to help support sleep.
However, if you want support calm throughout the day, you can split the dose, so half the dose in the morning and half in the evening.
Can I take Simply Magnesium Liposomal as well as other forms of magnesium?
Magnesium is a very common deficiency in the UK, many of my clients are very deficient in magnesium. Other forms of magnesium (e.g. magnesium body butter) could be taken alongside Simply Magnesium Liposomal. Please work with a practitioner who can properly advise on the correct levels for you or your child.
Can I take Simply Magnesium Liposomal alongside other vitamins?
It is generally fine to combine vitamin and minerals. We would always advise speaking to a practitioner who can properly advise on the correct levels for you.
Can I take Simply Magnesium Liposomal if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
As with all food supplements, it is best to seek medical advice before taking if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
